Latvia Residence Permit for Russian, Ukrainian & CIS Citizens

‍

Obtaining a residence permit in Latvia for citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and other CIS countries involves specific requirements, from choosing the right legal ground to meeting financial sufficiency criteria. The law closes several grounds to Russian and Belarusian citizens: for example, Russian citizens cannot apply as board members, as share capital investors or for employment (apart from a one-year repeat permit for those already working here), and Belarusian citizens cannot apply as share capital investors. We know the current conditions and help at every step: from your initial consultation to receiving your card.

We work with business, family reunification, employment and education grounds and check which of them are open to you, given your citizenship. If you have reached pension age, there are two specific routes: as the parent of a Latvian citizen or non-citizen, or as a pensioner from a visa-free country with sufficient means. The second route is closed to Russian and Belarusian citizens.

‍

Avoid Rejections and Wasted Time

‍

Errors in documents, wrong legal ground, or missed deadlines are the top reasons for application denials. We check each step with you to reduce these risks.
